Collection Alpen imitates quarzite stone of Alpen origin that stands out for its fine structure, natural roughness and excellent features. The basic inspiration for the collection is so called Vals Quarzite, that is extracted in the Vals vally in the heart of Switzerland. The history of this stone started probably more that 250 million years ago as a quartz rich sandstone which has more recently been through a process of metamorphosis. This transformation, combined with heat and pressure, has given the stone its strenght and its dark grey colour that emphasize the beautifull white veining. The stone has been a preferred choice of top architects around the world due to its sophisticated aesthetic, capable of interpreting any architectural space with elegance.
